| "Buddy" served in the
Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930's and in the U.S.
Marines during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He became a
Police Officer in 1949, was a motorcycle patrolman and a detective
with the Dept., retiring in 1987 after 38 years of service. He
was a member of PBA Local 38, as well as the Woodbridge Blue
Badge Association 1, and the New Jersey and Middlesex County
Safety Councils, former Vice President of the Woodbridge Safety
Council, and started the Woodbridge Bicycle Safety Program. He
was supervisor of the Township Safety Officers and Guards, and
supervisor of the Traffic Maintenance Department In 1964, "Buddy" received the Heroism Award for rescuing people from a burning building. In 1976, he received the Outstanding Public Safety Officer of the Year Award from the Woodbridge Blue Badge Association 1. |
